IST Lecture: Paul Nurse (Francis Crick Institute) - Science as revolution
The Nobel laureate Paul Nurse is the director of the London based Crick Institute, which - along with IST Austria - is one of very few basic research institutes offering its own PhD program.

ÖAW-IST Austria Lecture: Bernhard Schölkopf (Max-Planck-Institute for Intelligent Systems) - Can Europe catch up in artificial intelligence?
Bernhard Schölkopf is one of Europe's leading scientists in machine learning. He is the director of the MPI for Intelligent Systems and one of the founders of the ELLIS initiative, which seeks to boost European AI research in times where Europe is not keeping up with enormous investments in the USA and China. This lecture is jointly organized with the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW).
